Eikon International establishes its first European campus at SmartCity Malta

-

Eikon International, an acclaimed investment and operating company in the field of education, has announced plans to establish its first European campus, Global College Malta (GCM), at SmartCity Malta.

The company invests in the delivery of programmes of well-reputed international universities and schools in countries with a high growth potential, and has a heritage stretching back more than10 years. With a stellar track record for making highly reputed school and higher education brands available to students in India and the Middle East, the company has considered the European and North African regions for its next phase of expansion.

“As has been demonstrated by our early entry into Dubai for the Middle East market, it is important for us to choose a location that has the potential for growth and is attractive to international students from around the region. We believe in Malta’s vision to be a regional knowledge hub. Malta, already a centre for students from North Africa and Europe, has the potential for significant growth in higher education provision that we are looking for”, says Eikon International executive director Vidhya Vinod.

The company’s core competence is in working with international university partners. Students in Malta will be able to select from a range of internationally acclaimed bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes, all of which will be accredited by the Maltese authorities. GCM will provide the international learning experience and the students will be awarded degrees from these partner universities. This operating model of Eikon International has proved successful in its past ventures in emerging markets. Its partnerships with top universities, its involvement in campuses on three continents, and the large number of its student body size are testimony to Eikon’s success.

“We would like to have everyone’s support in recreating the success of providing a quality international experience for our students”, added Dr Vinod.

Eikon is constructing and branding its new Maltese operation, Global College Malta, at SmartCity Malta. It intends to commence operations with an MBA and a Foundation Programme in January and by September the programmes will be extended to include bachelor’s degrees in business, engineering, IT, the humanities and life sciences.
