Nestlè announces Nectar Group as new distributors
Nestlè has announced the appointment of Nectar Group as its sole distributor of their ice-cream brands, namely Nestlé ice cream (also featured as Motta Ice Cream), Antica Gelateria del Corso and Buitoni Frozen Foods as from 1 January.
Nestlè Malta Corporate Communications Manager Alfred Borg said: “The appointment of Nectar Group as our distributors marks a new and interesting business collaboration that is expected to streamline our distribution operations as well as bring more efficiency to the way we do business.
“Our ice cream brands have been available locally for a number of years, providing a new and exciting range summer after summer. With this move, we believe we can be even closer to our customers’ requirements and more focused on our consumers.”
In a short comment, Nectar Group managing director Roderick Abela said: “We are delighted with this new venture. Indeed, servicing an important company such as Nestlè is an important highlight for us as well as a vote of confidence in the reliable and efficient service with which we conduct our existing operations.”
Established in 1991, Nectar Group has become one of Malta’s most successful importation and distribution companies. With an extensive distribution network, its vast portfolio of food, beverage and confectionary products is widely stocked in all leading outlets.
Food giant Nestlè has had a fully owned Malta subsidiary company for almost a century. Over the years, the portfolio has grown and Nestlè Malta now has many brands that are households names: Kitkat, Perugina, Quality Street, After Eight, San Pellegrino, Nestle Vera, Panna, Friskies, Gourmet and Purina, to name just a few.
Nestlé Malta general manager expressed his confidence in this new venture and expressed the company’s appreciation for the work done by the current distributors, who will continue to represent Nestlé Malta until the end of the year.
