Corporate social responsibility: ensuring business benefits
As part of an initiative that will enable the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry to assess the potential of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities within its members’ operations, in collaboration with Bank of Valletta the chamber is organising a half-day conference entitled Corporate social responsibility: ensuring business benefits.
The conference will be held on Wednesday, 31 October at 8.30am at the Malta chamber’s premises in Valletta, and will focus on why CSR makes business sense and thus why it pays to introduce CSR practices in a business operation. The conference is one of the initiatives made possible through a supporting agreement that the chamber signed with Bank of Valletta in 2010. The bank is also assisting the chamber through its internal expertise in CSR.
Opening the conference will be Malta Chamber president Tancred Tabone and Bank of Valletta CEO Charles Borg. Following the introduction, former PwC Malta senior partner John Bonello and Bank of Valletta head of Public Relations Vanessa Macdonald will be among the prominent speakers addressing the conference.
This event aims to discover new ways by which businesses may gain a competitive advantage through the implementation of CSR, along with acquiring knowledge and sharing best practices. Business leaders from all sectors and experts from government, NGOs, educational and other institutions looking to update themselves on how to integrate CSR practices into a business environment are strongly encouraged to attend. There will be a networking lunch after the conference.
The Participation fee is €20 for Malta Chamber members and €35 for non-members. Both members and non-members wishing to attend are kindly requested to register by e-mail on: dorianne.bonanno@maltachamber.org.mt
