Kevin Mizzi’s job change is ‘the beginning of Simon Busuttil’s restructuring of PN core’
Contrary to the impression given surrounding Kevin Mizzi’s move away from being Simon Busuttil’s aide – i.e. that this was a decision taken by Mr Mizzi, which in turn, continues to deplete the core around the PN leader – this decision is actually the first tassel by Dr Busuttil as he goes about restructuring the team around him, informed sources inside the PN have told this paper.
The announcement regarding Mr Mizzi comes hot on the heels of the decision by the PN communications officer, David Herrera, to further his academic studies.
But the two cases have widely differing backgrounds, PN insiders insisted.
Mr Mizzi will be working with new MEP Therese Comodini Cachia, doing more or less the same work he did with Dr Busuttil when the latter was an MEP. Mr Mizzi was helping Dr Comodini Cachia in the latter part of the MEP campaign.
It is also reported that Dr Busuttil is trying hard to restore more structures inside PN where the party’s financial crisis did not allow for more over the past months. It is not normally appreciated that the financial crisis forced the party to contest the EP elections with severely depleted resources.
