John Dimech and Ruth Paris exhibit at Villa Bologna

-

Maltese television personality and painter John Dimech and his partner Ruth Paris will be launching an exhibition of Land and Sea Scapes, Abstracts and Prints on 11 June at Villa Bologna in Attard.

The exhibition, which is part of the Visiting Artist Programme will continue until 30 July and during this period John and Ruth will be painting in the Villa Bologna gift shop and gardens on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Visitors are encouraged to pop by after work on the 11th between 5.30pm and 9.30pm for refreshments and a chat with the artists and to enjoy a leisurely early midsummer stroll in the beautiful Mediterranean gardens of Villa Bologna which are in full bloom at the moment. The normal entrance free is being waived on this occasion.

In January 2014, The Villa Bologna Gift Shop launched a monthly ‘Visiting Artist Programme’. The aim of our project is to collaborate and share our space with other artists and also to inject life into our workshop (Ceramika Maltija) and gift shop.

Way back in the 1920s, Lady Strickland was co-responsible for setting up ‘The Malta Industries Association,’ with the objective of safeguarding local artisanship for posterity.

And Villa Bologna is going back to its roots by extending a welcoming hand to promoting local endeavours and artistic po- tential and cultivating a certain pride in a ‘ Mahdum f’Malta‘ ethos.
