‘Qatt ma Ninsa’ harbour cruise
Following the success of the Harbour Cruise recently organised by Heritage Malta and as part of the Qatt ma Ninsa event to be held on 15 June at the Malta Maritime Museum, Heritage Malta will be organising another Fortifications Harbour Tour on Sunday, 15 June.
The event should entice all those who love Malta for its cultural heritage and its beautiful sea and who are keen for a relaxing yet educational treat. The Fortifications Harbour Cruise will include a guided tour of the Harbour area by boat, taking those present into the various creeks around the Grand Harbour and Marsamxett, such as French Creek, Marsa Creek and Lazaretto.
The tour will set sail from the Birgu Waterfront at 10am sharp. Heritage Malta curator of Fort St Angelo, Matthew Balzan, will describe the fortifications with a special focus on the Knights of St John and the British during and after World War II. Those who opt to join the tour will have free entrance to the Malta Maritime Museum (hosting the Qatt ma Ninsa event, formerly called Life at Sea) and Inquisitor’s Palace between 9am and 4.30pm as well as a complimentary publication. Upon return, from the harbour tour, a light snack will be served on the Malta Maritime Museum terrace overlooking the Birgu waterfront.
