‘From Notion to Action’ talk at Din l-Art Ħelwa

The next public lecture at Din l-Art Ħelwa will be entitled ‘From Notion to Action: environmental management, the crisis of unsustainability and the need for restoration ecology’. The talk will be given by Prof. Louis F Cassar on 12 June at 6.30pm.

Professor Cassar, a landscape ecologist and environmental planner by training, has been involved in conservation for the last four decades, initially through local and international NGOs, and later pro- fessionally. In addition to his research interests, which include corridor and restoration ecology, participatory methods for conservation, and dynamics of aeolian systems, among others, he has worked extensively in the area of human resource capacity building in environmental management throughout the Mediterranean region, as well as in West Africa, South America and Southeast Asia.

Professor Cassar is currently the Director of the Institute of Earth

Systems of the University of Malta.
