EmCare invests in safer, more independent and a healthier lifestyle

-

emCare is the creation of a partnership between Vassallo Group’s elderly care operation, CareMalta and 6PM PLC, the highly established IT solutions company in international healthcare solutions. The result is a highly motivated and dedicated fusion of healthcare and technology to provide continuous and real-time health and environmental monitoring. emCare, along with GO PLC, is also the sole provider of the government-subsidised Telecare Plus service for the Maltese Islands.

The latest Telecare Plus and eCare services offer non-intrusive monitoring allowing the 24/7 call centre to know if our client is well or needs help without even needing to press a button. There is a vast range of devices available which are aimed at peace of mind, prevention and maintaining one's independence within their home.

Taking it one step further, the introduction of a simple-to-use mobile phone extends the service to anywhere in Malta, Gozo and the rest of Europe. This phone can be controlled by the next of kin from a website to make the setup as simple as possible for the user. The SOS button on the back of the phone is the one and only button that needs to be pressed in any emergency situation. Upon doing this, the next of kin will not only be contacted but will also receive an exact pin-point GPS location of where their loved one is. In many unfortunate cases a Geo-fencing setup may be required to inform the next of kin that the user has left their specified safe zone to be able to track them down and get them back home safely.

emCare’s vision of prevention far exceeds one’s environment but is also extended to one's health. SCOPE is emCare’s flag- ship solution. It has been developed with the strictest security measures to meet the high demands for today's data protection as regards eHealth monitoring. The solution provides education, encourages a healthier lifestyle and enables self-care. SCOPE also fulfils the 3 pillars within a B2B environment such as an elderly care home. These pillars consist of the collection of vital signs, a care plan and medication management. The solution has been perfected through the implementations carried out both locally and internationally to maximize the potential of the care homethrough accountability, efficiency and accuracy while enforcing a paperless environment, all resulting in the very best possible care for the resident.

Speaking about the company’s success since its launch in 2012, Ivan Bartolo, CEO at em Care said: “Since its inception, emCare’s vision has been to help people feel more independent, at ease-and secure within the community. It gives us great satisfaction to know that thanks to our mission, people from different walks of life are leading better and more fulfilling lives. We will continue working hard to provide the best possible service to our customers and ensure their well-being.”

Active Ageing is internationally an ongoing effort to improve the quality in the latter stages of life. Our efforts, dedication and beliefs are focused towards this improvement and education about the elderly who have invaluable experience and knowledge to teach the rest of society to flourish.
