International Cat and Dog Show Laguna Walk next weekend
The month of May at SmartCity Malta’s Laguna Walk promises to be an extremely busy time of the year for Malta’s latest event destination.
Next weekend will see the popular Family Fun Weekends returning to SmartCity Malta’s Laguna Walk. This family fun weekend will be different from previous ones as together with all the entertainment which has become synonymous with these weekends, the management will be hosting the Magico Luna Park together with an International Cat and Dog Show. On Sunday, 24 May the old American banger cars restored to mint condition will take centre stage and adorn the Laguna Walk area.
On Saturday 16 May the events will commence at 15:00 hrs with a full animation programme which will come to an end at 8pm. On Sunday, the events start in the morning at 11am and come to an end at 6pm. Added to the animation on Saturday and Sunday, the Magico Luna Park will also be offering a full range of rides including Musik Express, Ciclone, Bumping Cars, Simulator, Funny Palace, Salta Montes, Mini Bumping Cars and the traditional Carousel.
In conjunction with the family fun weekends, this weekend will also see the organisation of a dog and cat show taking place at Laguna Walk. The International Cat Show will be held on 16 May between 3.30pm and 8pm, and between 11am and 5pm on 17 May. The event is being organized by the Malta Feline Guidance Club and will see Persians, Exotics, Maine Coon, Devon Rex, Sphynx, Ragdolls, Abyssinian and British Short Hair cats participating. All participating cats will be judged by two international judges from Italy and Belgium.
The Dog Show is being organised by Pet Nutrition and will see several activities taking place on both days, including the Match Game for all dogs, which will be judged by Karl Flores. Canine participation is free and open to all pure and mixed breeds. Games will be held accordingly and gifts will be given to all participants, whereas trophies will be given to the win- ners. During the activity canine NGOs will be setting up stalls next to the Laguna promoting their voluntary work and services offered to the dog community and they will be collecting donations for the respective entities. Applications are available by calling 21470324/27470324 or emailing Clarissa Mifsud on c.mifsud@petnutrition.eu. The dog show will be held between 3.30pm to 7.30pm on 16 May and between 1pm and 7pm on 17 May.
