Suicidal folly

-

It’s about time political leaders in Europe take some tough action to stop this cycle of Islamic terrorism. The stakes are enormous. We cannot allow this type of terrorism to intensify and escalate further. The spate of attacks has gone from bad to worse and there is a reason for the upsurge of all this bloodshed, this violence, these mass murders across Western Europe. Our once peaceful societies have been transformed by our brave politicians into Islamist sections where instability and discord reign supreme.

As the shadow of violence lengthens across Europe, most notably in Belgium, France and Germany, our political leaders seem to have grown accustomed to these atrocities on an almost weekly basis. They must unite to try to eradicate this type of suicidal violence which is beings orchestrated by these hot-headed militant Islamists.

The latest blood-soaked incident has been savage indeed. Last week, near Rouen in France, two ISIS fanatics forced an 85-year-old priest to kneel by his altar and then slashed his throat. This is a sacrilege, an insult to our Roman Catholic religion. And the list of atrocities by these murderous villains goes on and on without the slight- est sign of abating. There was the Nice massacre by an immigrant, the axe assault on a train in Germany by a refugee, the stabbing of a mother and her three daughters at a French holiday camp by a Moroccan Muslim who took offence at their clothes; the Bavarian city of Munich two weeks ago became the arena for another blood bath by an Iranian immigrant killing nine people before shooting himself, and the murder of a woman near Stuttgart by a Syrian refugee. The list is endless...

Political leaders are failing miserably to protect innocent civilians. They have to use all means possible to fight the third World War against these barbarians. These cowardly attacks must be confronted with determination. It’s not just Catholics who are being targeted but all citizens of various nationalities. A new spirit of determination from European leaders is a must to protect civilization and not indulge in more appeasement, denial and cowardice. What’s the use of offering condolences to the stricken families, what’s the point of vigils with solemn faces, the flags flying at half past, the days of mourning? These are all useless. Empty rituals mean nothing. The solidarity our leaders talk about fre- quently has perished by the wayside. What the honest citizen is yearning for is tough action and the abolishment of mass immigration policies which have proved time and again that they are destructive... they are destroying Europe. The Islamist threat is not a joke, it is very dangerous. Islamists mean what they say and their threats are very serious...

This suicidal folly has to stop. Instability is endemic. There must be an end to this Islamist terrorism. Big countries such as Germany, France and Great Britain have been remarkably generous in supporting huge numbers of migrants, but what was the Islamists response to this generosity? They reacted with more murderous revenge, fuelled by the vile separatist creed of militant Islam. More draconian measures against known jihadists in Europe are therefore needed. Tags, house arrest, denial of web access which is a huge important weapon in the hands of the enemy, and of course, manpower to watch them constantly. The threat is real and, at the moment, I think Europe is found wanting. Jos Edmond Zarb, Birkirkara
