MSPCA announces new official sponsor, Pet Nutrition House proud to support NGO

-

MSPCA, formerly known as SPCA Malta, is announcing its new sponsor Pet Nutrition House, producers of the local pet food brands, Prince and Princess.

MSPCA takes in, cares for and rehomes abandoned and unwanted pets in Malta. The Society recognises feeding time as the highlight in these animals’ daily routine with exercise being a close second. Considering the lack of enrichment permitted by a kennel set up, the Society aims to use feeding time to improve the animals’ mood. In order to maintain good health and happiness animals need to get the necessary nutrients in the right balance delivered in a way the body can make use of them. MSPCA challenged and reviewed their feeding regime and set out to find ways to improve it while also keeping costs to a minimum. A good balance between satiation, health and cost was found in the Prince Complete and Vitality, a new line designed to be mixed with premium canned food and to be cost-effective.

Pet Nutrition House has given the society excellent rates to buy its pet food as well as committed to providing a 20kg starter pack for every animal adopted from the Society. They sponsored MSPCA’s recently held Treasure Island Spring Fair at San Anton Gardens and will be attending events with the Society whenever possible while also providing tents and chairs. The sponsor would also be providing the Society with €250 worth of cat and dog treats and toys. The staff at MSPCA has also received a more vibrant coloured uniform sponsored by Pet Nutrition for the summer while the winter uniforms are in the making.

The Society looks forward to a fund-raising campaign anticipated to happen in the coming months where proceeds from selected and marked products from the Prince and Princess brands will go to the MSPCA.

“We are excited to be collaborating with a local pet food producer. This helps us have better control on what our animals are eating and allows us to give direct feedback on the formulation which in the end benefits all local pets. We look forward to more productive partnerships with local businesses to help us achieve the goals we have set out for the coming years,” said Sarah De Cesare Dunkerley, chief Operations officer, MSPCA.

“The philosophy of our brands Prince and Princess is to ensure that we take care of less fortunate animals. Contributing to society with commitment and passion,” said Matthew Wismayer, manager director, Pet Nutrition Ltd.
