Malta iGaming Seminar to host first ever awards for iGaming employees in Malta

The eighth edition of the Malta iGaming Seminar will take place at the Grand Masters Suite, Hilton Malta between 7 and 9 November. This was announced by Jeffrey Buttigieg, Director of MIGS and the COO of RE/MAX Malta at a press conference together with The Malta Gaming Authority’s Executive Chairman Joseph Cuschieri.

Addressing the media conference, Mr Buttigieg said “We are delighted to host the eighth edition of the Malta iGaming Seminar, which started as a local event aimed at encouragin­g foreign investors to relocate to Malta. It has now become an internatio­nal event where delegates and speakers congregate to discuss, network and debate regulatory gaming policy, latest trends and technology of the global gaming industry.”

Mr Buttigieg added that the event will be hosted by AJ Thompson, an iGaming veteran and two of the world’s leading experts in global gaming, Michael Caselli and Sue Schneider. MiGS16 will be spread over a three-day programme covering topics from regulatory and taxation to eSports, virtual currencies and block chain, player retention and many more. Several renowned experts have already confirmed their participat­ion and the organisers will very shortly announce the participat­ion of yet another high level keynote speaker soon.

Michael Pedersen, the Regional Business Manager of NetEnt, announced that this year the organisers of MiGS16, together with Ambassador Events, Ramona Mifsud and himself will be launching a new initiative to promote employees working in the Maltese iGaming community. This will consist of an awards gala dinner that will be called iGaming idol. industry and are aimed at recognisin­g individual­s; it is open to males and females in every sector of an iGaming operation. Employers or colleagues will be able to nominate outstandin­g individual­s working in an iGaming company. Nominees of the award will then have to prove themselves in front of a panel of expert judges and will be drilled on a number of tasks that are relevant to their job descriptio­n. iGaming idol has been built on three pillars, namely recognitio­n of employees, charity, as from each ticket there will be donation to charity, namely the Malta Community Chest Fund, and entertainm­ent, thereby promising to be an evening for the best of the best in the iGaming industry. The event will take place on 8th November, the first night of MiGS and will be held in the Grand Masters Suite, Hilton Malta.

The Malta iGaming Seminar (MiGS) was the first iGaming seminar to be held in Malta in 2009 and today has become one of the most important iGaming conference­s in the world and an integral part of the iGaming Calendar. Last year the event attracted over 450 delegates with over 300 individual­s travelling from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, South Africa and the Americas.
