The Marsa situation

-

After certain incidents that occurred in the locality of Marsa, which resulted in tense situations, I am anxious as well as curious about certain events that took place and which apparently have not been addressed.

First, it is important to point out that these people (foreigners) were transparent in the eyes of the authority. It appears that the latter were not aware of, and therefore not recording, activities these people (foreigners) regular, irregular and even illegal, were doing. Did it have to be the cry of a resident or group of residents to make the authorities aware of these activities? Did the authorities know and just closed an eye? Where were the patrols?

Now that a whole task force has been assigned to control these incidences, with direct orders from above, the area seems to have been cleared of most of these people (foreigners). Some have been charged and arrested but surely the number which remained there are far less than the initial amount that there were in the first place. It is obvious that among those who were in the wrong had lost their playground. Where did these people go? Vanished, how? Relocated to where?

The people (foreigners) who remained in the area obviously had all their papers in order as they kept calm in the presence of police and the task force. Their numbers, as noted before, are far less now than before action was taken. Does this mean that the others that left, broke up and even relocated had no papers and/or permits to be in the country? Was this a breach of national security? Do we know how many people (foreigners) arrived or have been saved, or is it a come as you please expedition? Carmen Mallia Marsa
