Senior management appointments at CaterEssence
CaterEssence Ltd, the food company in the Vassallo Group has just announced two new senior management positions to further strengthen the growth in business activity for the company.
Raphael Cauchi has been appointed general manager (Retail) responsible for all retail food activities of the company, and Mario Mallia has been appointed Executive Pastry Chef responsible for CaterEssence’s pastry division.
Cauchi has 29 years’ experience working in the hospitality and destination management industry, and held many positions, including senior management posts in five-star international hotel chains and food and beverage franchises mainly with Island Hotels Group and the Costa Coffee franchise. Mr Cauchi sat on a number of boards in the capacity of Director.
Mallia previously held the position of Executive Pastry Chef at the Hilton Malta for the last nine years. Mallia gained a lot of pastry-related work experience working in various countries including the UK, Italy, Germany, Togo, Tunisia, and Korea. He has participated and was among top pastry chefs in a number of national and international competitions namely Salon Culinaire, World Association of Cooks Society and Hotel Olympia. He also formed part of Malta’s National Culinary Team.
