Pembroke demolish ten-man Pieta

Pembroke finally obtained their first victory, demolishing ten-man Pieta in a one sided affair.

Pieta, who had impressed in their opening two matches, resisted only thirty minutes in which they suffered two goals followed by Chiedozie’s expulsion.

From then onwards it was a no contest match with Pembroke strolling easily home to earn three precious points.

After a balanced start Pembroke broke the deadlock on fiteen minutes when Priso was brought down by Ruiz Perez inside the box and the same Priso shot home from the spot.

Sixty seconds later Pembroke went close again with a Warren Chircop header hitting the upright.

On 18 minutes Pieta close to an equaliser when from an Agius freekick, Ruiz Perez’s header smashed against the upright.

On 24 minutes Pieta missed a sitter with Dylan Agius shooting over the bar from an ideal position.

Two minutes later Pembroke doubled the score when Pieta defender Spiteri failed to clear and John Nwoba was on hand to slot home from close range.

On 34 minutes Pieta were reduced to ten men when striker Lawrence Chidozie was sent off for hitting an opponent off the ball.

Three minutes from the break Pembroke missed a sitter when Priso dribbled past goalkeeper Montfort and passed to warren Chircop who blasted over the bar with an open goal ta his mercy.

Three minutes into the second half Pembroke put the issue beyond doubt when Yanis Tonna did all the spadework and passed to Warren Chircop who slotted easily home.

On 62 minutes Pembroke scored a fourth through substitute Lee Grech who fired a scorcher that rocketed against the crossbar before finishing at the back of the net.

Five minutes from time Priso was unlucky not to score with his shot hitting the upright.
