Wanted: Police publish photo of Tigné Point jewellery heist suspect

-

The police yesterday published the photo of a man they believe to be linked with the hold-up at a jewellery shop at Tigné Point last Thursday.

The police identified the man as 24-yearold Albanian national Ramazan Hysa.

Tens of thousands of euros in jewellery were stolen in the robbery from the Diamonds International jewellery outlet, which sources close to the police said took less than five minutes.

The hold-up was carried out by two Caucasian men, but it is believed that a third person was in- volved. The two men smashed several glass cabinets where the jewellery was on display, grabbing all the items they could find and placing them in bags before making their getaway.

The robbers, who were wearing wigs and sunglasses, used an axe to break the display glasses, which shattered into pieces

Magistrate Neville Camilleri is conducting an inquiry. Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to phone the police on 119/ 2122 4001 or the Sliema police station on 2294 3351.
