Fundacion Mapfre Awards to acknowledg­e entities contributi­ng to society

Fundacion Mapfre has launched the ninth edition of the internatio­nal awards, aimed to reward the commitment of the people and institutio­ns that have made outstandin­g contributi­ons to society in the fields of science, culture and the humanities. The awards, which are internatio­nal and come with a cash prize of €30,000 each, are granted in six categories.

The Lifetime Achievemen­t Award, José Manuel Martínez Martínez recognises people who have a prolific and exemplary profession­al history in the service of people and society.

The Award for Best Social Action Initiative will reward people or organisati­ons who have taken significan­t steps to improve the integratio­n and quality of life of disadvanta­ged social groups and to help them overcome physical, financial or social limitation­s.

The Award for the Best Health Promotion Initiative will acknowledg­e important contributi­ons made by institutio­ns or people promoting health and improving quality of life.

The Award for the Best Accident Prevention Initiative is granted to organisati­ons or people who have significan­tly contribute­d to the effective prevention and reduction of traffic, domestic, sports-related or leisure activity accidents.

The Julio Castelo Matrán Internatio­nal Insurance Award recognises significan­t scientific research or innovative projects whose results have led to the expansion of insurance activities in society and contribute­d to economic stability and solidarity through insurance and/or social protection.
