The Eye – God’s marvellous handiwork

- Francesco Simon Mercieca Fgura

This is not the work of an illusionist nor the result of a big explosion out of nothing. This is the manifestation of a designer, a master builder, a creator. Can the evolutionist or for that matter, the scoffers, sceptics, agnostics and the religious heirarchy who dogmatically believe that all matter in the universe originated from one infinitely dense, infinitely small, ultra-hot dot called a singularity that exploded and creatted out of nothing this engineering marvel of the eye. Can anyone tell us which of these eyes is the simplest and most primitive?.

In his work ‘ The Origin of Species’, Darwin wrote that the thought of the eye leaves him cold all over. He confessed it was absurb that it could have been formed by natural selection. All the vital parts of the intricate, complex organ such as the pupil, the iris, the lens, the cornea, the ciliary muscle, the sclera and the myraid other specialized parts have to be present if sight is to be possible. The theory of natural selection holds that creatures evolve only what is of immediate benefit. Leave one component out and the eye goes blind, like the blind faith in evolution. In one of its edition, the Encyclopaedia Britannica fills more than 34 pages discussing the eye. It is impossible for the eye of any creature great or small to explain them by the process of Darwinian evolution, by random mutations, quantum leaps or any other humanly devised theory. It took the great creature God to skillfully design and make the eye.
