This year, a solid waste management infrastructure has been put in place in partnership with Wasteserv, recycling cooperative GreenPak and NGO Zibel.

PlastiKaxxa, an initiative by GreenPak and Zibel, and supported by the Farsons Foundation, will facilitate an increase in the collection of recyclable material at the festival. Visitors can dispose of their crushed plastic bottles and cups in seven containers made of re-used nets and wood placed around the festival site.

Smaller containers will also be installed for the disposal of plastic caps which will be collected for GreenPak’s Nirricikla Ghall Istrina campaign.

Additionally, in an extension of their Crush & Win campaign, a lucky winner will be drawn every night and awarded €50 by GreenPak. This campaign encourages the public to crush recyclable items before disposing of them responsibly.

Susan Weenink Camilleri, head of Marketing and Communications at Simonds Farsons Cisk plc, commented: “Although always present, this year we are stepping up our efforts to ensure proper waste management on site. We encourage our visitors to follow instructions and, together with our partners, we will ensure that waste is kept separate from collection through to disposal.”

This year’s edition of the Farsons Beer Festival is once again sponsored by Vodafone and supported by XFM, Algida and Krea. Other partners include PRS for Music, Taxify, Focal Maritime, Mapfre Middlesea and Go Sport.

The Farsons Beer Festival is organised by Simonds Farsons Cisk plc. For information, news and updates follow the Farsons Beer Festival on Facebook and Instagram.
