New president and committee of the Maltese Diabetes Association
Chris J. Delicata has been elected president of the Maltese Diabetes Association for the period 2018-2020 succeeding Anna Zammit McKeon who served as president for the past two decades.
Zammit McKeon decided not to seek re-election as president but agreed to continue serving as a member of the Committee as the coordinator for the Annual Summer Camp for children and juveniles living with diabetes.
For the past two decades, Delicata has been active in diabetes related NGOs, both locally and internationally having served as president of the European Region of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF-Europe) for the triennium 2009-2012 and vice president of the International Diabetes Federation for three years during the triennium 2013 to 2015. He currently serves as chairman of the European Coalition for Diabetes comprising four leading pan-European organisations: the Alliance for European Diabetes Research (EURADIA), the Foundation of European Nurses in Diabetes (FEND), the International Diabetes Federation (IDF Europe) and Primary Care Diabetes Europe (PCDE). Delicata is also presently honorary auditor of the Alliance for European Diabetes Research (EURADIA) and cochair of the Parliamentary Diabetes Global Network (PDGN).
On a local level, Delicata has been involved in the MDA since 2001 serving as its vice president and treasurer.
