New director joins the Board of APS Bank
Victor Emanuel Agius has been appointed to APS Bank’s Board of Directors. He joins the bank as Non-Executive Director after an international career of 43 years in commercial, development banking, and project finance.
Agius started his career at Lloyds Bank (1974-1978) and then joined the World Bank Group based in Washington DC (1978-2000) rising to Principal Financial Specialist. During this period, he also spent time at IFC (International Finance Corporation) as Senior Investment Officer and at the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction & Development) in London as Senior Banker and Co-Director, Financial Institutions Department from 1993 to 1997. Between 2000 and 2017 Agius was Director at the Council of European Development Bank (CEB) based in Paris, responsible for technical quality and oversight of the CEB’s portfolio.
Agius has a B.A. (Hons) Economics from the Royal University of Malta (1971) and an MBA from Manchester Business School. He also followed an Executive Program in Financial Management of Banking Institutions at the Wharton School of Finance in Pittsburgh and the Senior Finance Executive Program at Stanford University in California.
