Pi­anist Clif­ford Borg takes the stage at En­nejm Ez­zahra in Tu­nis

Pi­anist Clif­ford Borg will be tak­ing the stage for the first time on 7 De­cem­ber to per­form in Tu­nis at the pres­ti­gious cul­tural cen­tre En­nejma Ez­zahra at the Boui Said re­gion. The name of the event is Les Clas­siques and is be­ing or­gan­ised by the Cen­tre of Arab and Mediter­ranean Mu­sic. There will be other mu­si­cians from other Euro­pean coun­tries to per­form for this event and Clif­ford’s par­tic­i­pa­tion has been co­or­di­nated by the Mal­tese Em­bassy in Tu­nis.

Clif­ford has just per­formed in Malta for a lunchtime con­cert or­gan­ised by Barocco Malta at St Au­gus­tine Monastery. He per­formed a blend of his own com­po­si­tions and a num­ber of pi­ano works by clas­si­cal com­posers. In Oc­to­ber he also per­formed his pi­ano com­po­si­tion Com­plete from the al­bum Ori­gin at the Berlin Phil­har­monic Hall for the En­light­ened Pi­ano Awards which is an an­nual event fea­tur­ing pi­anists from all over the world. Clif­ford’s per­for­mance has been sup­ported by the Malta Arts Coun­cil – Cul­tural Ex­port Fund.

In Tu­nis Clif­ford will be per­form­ing vi­brant ex­cerpts from his al­bums Ori­gin and Drifted, namely Emer­gence, Wings, Sim­plic­ity, Se­cret En­ergy and Afrindian Sum­mer. More­over, he will be per­form­ing new com­po­si­tions from his up­com­ing al­bum.

Clif­ford Borg has re­leased two pi­ano based al­bums so far, Drifted in 2000 and Ori­gin in 2008. He has also worked on two world al­bums which are Cross-Ori­gin in 2014 and his lat­est re­lease Eco- Har­mony in 2018 which was nom­i­nated for the En­light­ened Pi­ano Awards in Berlin. Apart from per­form­ing con­certs at his home­base in Malta, Clif­ford has played ex­ten­sively in Europe in­clud­ing Dublin, Paris, Berlin, Brus­sels, Lon­don, Am­s­ter­dam, Lago Mag­giore and other cities.
