Pianist Clifford Borg takes the stage at Ennejm Ezzahra in Tunis
Pianist Clifford Borg will be taking the stage for the first time on 7 December to perform in Tunis at the prestigious cultural centre Ennejma Ezzahra at the Boui Said region. The name of the event is Les Classiques and is being organised by the Centre of Arab and Mediterranean Music. There will be other musicians from other European countries to perform for this event and Clifford’s participation has been coordinated by the Maltese Embassy in Tunis.
Clifford has just performed in Malta for a lunchtime concert organised by Barocco Malta at St Augustine Monastery. He performed a blend of his own compositions and a number of piano works by classical composers. In October he also performed his piano composition Complete from the album Origin at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall for the Enlightened Piano Awards which is an annual event featuring pianists from all over the world. Clifford’s performance has been supported by the Malta Arts Council – Cultural Export Fund.
In Tunis Clifford will be performing vibrant excerpts from his albums Origin and Drifted, namely Emergence, Wings, Simplicity, Secret Energy and Afrindian Summer. Moreover, he will be performing new compositions from his upcoming album.
Clifford Borg has released two piano based albums so far, Drifted in 2000 and Origin in 2008. He has also worked on two world albums which are Cross-Origin in 2014 and his latest release Eco- Harmony in 2018 which was nominated for the Enlightened Piano Awards in Berlin. Apart from performing concerts at his homebase in Malta, Clifford has played extensively in Europe including Dublin, Paris, Berlin, Brussels, London, Amsterdam, Lago Maggiore and other cities.
