Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw

Two years after they assisted Dominic Toretto and his crew in defeating Cipher, federal agent Luke Hobbs and former mercenary Deckard Shaw have departed in two different directions; Hobbs continues working as a Diplomatic Security Service agent while struggling to keep his relationship with his daughter functional, and Deckard has returned to his home in London.

In London, Deckard meets with his mother Magdalene, who encourages him to assist his sister Hattie, an MI6 agent. Deckard reluctantly agrees to meet Hattie but he finds that Hattie is being pursued by heavily armed soldiers through the streets.

Once Hobbs arrives to provide aid, Hattie informs them of her mission: she was tasked by MI6 to follow the tracks of Brixton Lore, an operative gone rogue, who has become a wanted terrorist leader equipped with highly advanced technology that grants him superhuman abilities.

Hobbs confirms Hattie’s words, adding that Lore is suspected for pursuing a biological agent which will enable its user to exterminate humanity. Lore then arrives, using his abilities to defeat the trio while taking the agent.

Hattie receives information about Lore’s hideout location: the Eggborough power station, located in North Yorkshire. There, Lore’s scientists plan on using the biological agent in order to initiate his plan. With additional MI6 reinforcements en route, Hobbs and Shaw attack and destroy the station. However, Lore pursues them and defeats them once again.

Hobbs then takes the Shaw siblings to an island where his family resides, where they are assisted by “Madame M”, a billionaire and black arms dealer who gives them information about Lore’s technology. Meanwhile, Lore is informed by his scientists that the biological agent in their possession is fake and discovers it was replaced by Hattie earlier.

Lore arrives at the island with his army, leading Hobbs’s family to attack all of them but not before Lore explains how he wants to use the virus to wipe out most of humanity in order to allow Earth to survive due to the longtime damage humanity does. Lore orders a helicopter and attempts to escape, taking Hattie with him, but Hobbs and Shaw give chase.

During the pursuit, Hobbs manages to throw a chain around the helicopter’s wing, and Hobbs’s family chains their trucks together, which they then link to Shaw’s car, in an attempt to bring down the helicopter. The chopper loses control and crashes, pulling Shaw’s car with it. The duo survives, as does Lore.

Healing from his wounds, a wrathful Lore storms toward the duo and engages them in a long and brutal fight, which ends with Hobbs unleashing the biological agent inside Lore’s body, killing him.

After MI6 thanks the duo, Hobbs announces he is retiring, bidding farewell to Shaw before returning to his daughter. Deckard then parts ways with his sister, who will continue working for MI6. Deckard then leaves London for the United States. Meanwhile, Cipher prepares for her next attack against Toretto, revealing that she was the mastermind behind Lore’s operations throughout their entirety.
