Sicily and Malta: two islands to be…tasted
● Sicilia da Gustare and renew collaboration to discover the islands’ best flavours for third year running ● Sicilia da Gustare insertion in next Tuesday’s edition of
Antonio Iacona 2019 is the third consecutive year in which Sicilia da Gustare and The Malta Independent are collaborating to highlight and sponsor the best food and wine offerings in Sicily and Malta.
The initiative comes as a result of the support given by The Malta Independent, which we would like to thank.
In fact, thousands of copies of our ‘Guide to the best restaurants of Sicily, Malta and Gozo (2019-2020 edition)’, edited by Carmelo Pagano, will be distributed across Malta in next Tuesday’s edition of The Malta Independent.
After the summer break, the guide will also be distributed on Air Malta flights.
Pagano comments: “We are greatly pleased to have renewed this collaboration, as The Malta Independent is an important vehicle for our guide – not only for us to be able provide useful information on restaurants and wine cellars across Sicily, but to also cast a fresh light on the Maltese enogastronomic offer.”
Readers will discover the best spots and flavours that these two beautiful islands have to offer in the latest edition of the guide, which comprises 354 pages of detailed descriptions of restaurants and other places to make a tasty stop-off, as well as prestigious wineries and a selection of new recipes.
Once again, the booklet will available in both Italian and English so as to reach a wider audience. The keyword here is obviously the ‘Mediterranean’, with its rich history, character and flavours, and the splendour of its shores, coasts, and islands, where Sicily and Malta play an increasingly strategic role.
It is our conviction that today’s economy 3.0 is increasingly looking toward tourism, quality agriculture, and national and international food markets, and the guide provides something of a synthesis of how the food and wine world can contribute to the economic growth of Mediterranean countries.
Moreover, our choice to go bi-lingual confirms our strong intention to place the project at the centre of this wonderful sea, which is now a true ocean of opportunities.
And finally, we would like to thank the true protagonists of this project: the hundreds of chefs and wine producers – the highly skilled interpreters of Sicilian, Maltese and Mediterranean cuisine.
