Champions and last year’s finalists Valletta had an easy walk in the park when they defeated St. Andrew’s by four goals to nil.
After a rather bumpy start to this campaign Valletta have gathered momentum and presently share third place in the BOV Premier League winning four out of the last five matches.
Their opponents St. Andrews are third in the BOV First Division and in the FA Trophy second round, they defeated Marsaxlokk 3-1.
Valletta took the lead on 18 minutes through Jean Borg. Nine minutes later it was Douglas Packer’s turn to double the score for the Citizens.
Goals kept coming at regular intervals and on the hour hour defender Steve Borg scored Valletta’s third. With the same playing added the fourth and final goal nine minutes from the break.
In the second half Valletta took it easy with coach Darren Abdilla taking this opportunity and introducing a number of new players.
Kercem Ajax or Sirens will be Valletta’s opponents in the next round.
