Brian Galea wins The Brincat Trap Trophy

Brain Galea claimed his eight trophy of the season when he won the Brincat Trap Trophy TR2 at the Southern Shooting Club.

This shoot is related to the selection process of the Trap Team Malta for the year 2020 / 2021.

Galea was joined on the podium by William Chetcuti and by John Marmara who finished in the second and in the third place respective­ly.

Two perfect straights were registered by James Galea Jr. and by William Chetcuti.

The six Finalists in the Bib number order according to their qualificat­ion scores were:

James Galea Jr. with the score of 71/75, William Chetcuti hit 69/75, Nico Sciberras 67/75, Brian Galea managed 66/75, John Marmara scored 65/75 while the youngest two Athletes of the Malta Shooting Sport Federation, Jacob Attard and Ryan Bugeja had to go through a twoway shoot-off to secure a place in the final as they tied their qualificat­ion scores with 63/75 hit targets each.

It was Attard who made to the Final Stages.

The Finals results were:

1st Brian Galea 22/25 + 4/5 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 9/10, total score 44/50

2nd William Chetcuti 21/25 + 3/5 + 2/5 + 5/5 + 7/10, total score 38/50

3rd John Marmara 19/25 + 5/5 + 3/5 + 3/5, total score 30/40

4th Nico Sciberras 20/25 + 4/5 + 2/5, total score 26/35

5th James Galea Jr. 15/25 + 5/5, total score 23/30

6th Jacob Attard 14/25, total score 14/25

The top three Shooters in their respective classes concluded their qualificat­ions with the following scores:

Class A

1st James Galea Jr. 71/75 2nd William Chetcuti 69/75 3rd Nico Sciberras 67/75

Class B

1st Mikaela Galea 62/75 2nd Frank Scorfna 61/75 3rd Mariah Busuttil 59/75

Class C

1st Jacob Attard 63/75 (Countback Rule)

2nd Ryan Bugeja 63/75

3rd Stephen Bartolo 60/75
