As COVID-19 continues to pose commercial challenges, Insights together with Evolve Ltd and Trade Malta, is setting up regular exchanges of information between Maltese and Ghanaian companies, in the hope of cultivating mutually beneficial business ties.

The High Commission of Malta in Ghana has been instrumental in its guidance to Maltese companies that want to explore business opportunities in Ghana.

Ghana, with its resources, stable macroeconomic environment and business-conducive environment, may serve as an entry point for Maltese companies exploring new markets in West Africa and beyond.

On the other hand, Malta’s geostrategic location, technical know-how, skilled work-force and experience with adhering to European practices and standards may help Ghana access new markets in Europe.

The Insights online programme will see the participation of several Maltese and Ghanaian authorities that have already expressed their commitment to increase cross-country collaboration, most particularly in the area of standardisation.

Several Maltese companies also signed a Memoranda of Understanding with Ghanaian authorities in charge of standardisation with the intention of assisting through training and other capacity building measures.

Since the advent of COVID-19, Insights, a joint project between Nadia-Pace Ltd and Weave Consulting Ltd, has been enabling Maltese businesses to keep abreast with developments related to the prevailing business climate caused by COVID-19. This was mainly done by offering HR, leadership, financial and cashflow planning tips, along with strategic board level advice.

Malta's fastest growing science company Evolve Ltd, led by managing director Christopher Busuttil Delbridge, will also be regularly sharing valuable insights from their experience of doing business in Ghana. Trade Malta will continue to work relentlessly to support local businesses to expand internationally.

The programme will touch upon a broad range of industries while drawing on prospective trade opportunities, best practices and efforts towards social responsibility.

The sessions will draw on the importance of digitization in times

of COVID-19, adapting business models to current scenarios and the use of technology and other tools that enhance customer relations and increase operational efficiency and productivity.

The programme will also discuss how the pandemic has affected social, political and economic dynamics in both countries with the

overarching message being “collaboration is key to overcome this common challenge”.
