ŻfinDays: a celebration of versatility and talent by ŻfinMalta

An unmissable double bill

-

ŻfinDays, the national Dance Company’s first event for this year, presents two breath-taking performances, which, while stunning as standalone pieces, come together to offer a truly unmissable event.

Now in its second year, ŻfinDays showcases ŻfinMalta’s growing repertoire, through new, exciting creative collaborations between ground-breaking artists in Malta. The double bill also displays the national Dance Company’s dancers’ raw talent and versatility.

Kalypso, created by local choreographer Jacob Piccinino, opens the evening with a call back to mythology and ancient theatre, inviting the audience to dwell on guilt, compassion and social power struggles.

Núria Guiu’s Superlikes immediately grounds the audience back into the present, as she analyses the value we attribute to a “like” in our digital culture and society. Superlikes is an exclusive reinterpretation of Likes, the artist’s renowned solo work, which was selected by the European

platform Aerowaves 2018.

“ŻfinDays reflects our constant efforts to create a thriving and attractive contemporary dance scene in Malta,” enthused Paolo Mangiola, ŻfinMalta’s artistic director. “The diversity of this event clearly shows why ŻfinDays has become one of our annual, signature programmes.”

ŻfinDays will be held on 12 and 13 February at 8pm and on 14 February at 2 and 8pm, at the Valletta Campus Theatre. Tickets may be purchased via kultura.mt.
