Trustin Farrugia Cann the match Hibernians went near when Degabriele set Gilmar whose shot with Bartolo beaten crossed the face of goal and ended wide. The Paolites were now increasing their tempo and a minute later Degarbiele brought the best out of Bartolo who palmed his shot onto a corner.

In the 84th minute in a Ħamrun counter attack Ailton Soares passed towards Doumbia but the latters timing was not a perfect one failing to connect on time.

The match had the much awaited twist in the final moments when three minutes from the end Ħamrun were awarded a penalty folllowing a foul by Ferdinando Apap on Claude Dielna.

After heavy protests by the Hibernians players Seydou Doumbia converted in style to send the Ħamrun faithful into raptures.

In stoppage time Hibernians went near through two well executed free-kicks both taken by Gilmar. The first one was saved by Bartolo whereas the second one scraped the crossbar.
