The Sunday Times of Malta - Sunday Circle

The editor A WORD FROM

-

Hello again, lovely readers – it has been a moment or two since you last saw my name here, but I’m thrilled to be back at the helm of Sunday Circle. Life has a funny way of going full circle (couldn’t resist that one!) and clearly this magazine has now become an indelible part of mine.

A huge thanks goes to Claudia Calleja and to Iggy Fenech, the previous two editors who made these pages shine so brightly since my previous stint as editor came to an end in 2019. But now, it’s time to kick off February with coffee and a good read, and I invite you to join me once again on this journey.

Valentine’s Day is an inescapable part of the month. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of prescribed romance, but then again we need all the good feels that we can find in these trying times. So why not focus on some really lovely couples whose relationships go way beyond one date in one month.

On to other topics. This month also marks the return of The Shrinking Violets theatre company, with a piece that promises to be poignant, eye-opening and – of course – also entertaining. This time round they’re tackling dementia via a production of In Other Words, Given that this is a reality that affects around 30% of 80-year-olds in Malta, this is definitely a conversation worth having.

There’s more, including carnival celebrations, environmental matters and contemporary dance. Enjoy the read and see you next time.
