AES be­gan op­er­a­tions in the Do­mini­can Repub­lic in 1997 with the firm con­vic­tion of adding value to be na­tional en­ergy mar­ket and con­tribut­ing to the de­vel­op­ment of the com­mu­ni­ties it serves. To­day AES Do­mini­cana is po­si­tioned as the prin­ci­pal in­vestor Group with mod­ern en­ergy fa­cil­i­ties, with the lat­est gen­er­a­tion tech­nol­ogy, and the most price-com­pet­i­tive ar­ray of fu­els used in the gen­er­a­tion of elec­tric­ity in the Do­mini­can mar­ket. AES Do­mini­cana’s in­vest­ments ex­ceed 800 mil­lions dol­lars, and have a di­rect im­pact on the lives the 300 work­ers. This Group con­sti­tutes one of the prin­ci­pal sup­ports for the Na­tional In­ter­con­nected Elec­tri­cal Sys­tem (NIES), sup­ply­ing around 40% of the coun­try’s en­ergy de­mand.
