Biography
Luis Adalberto Facundo Gomez del Campo Bacardi, Lord of Bayfield Hall, great-grandson of Facundo Bacardi, creator of the world-famous Bacardi rum, whose company, founded in Cuba in 1862, brought world fame to the island. After Fidel Castro came to power, the entire Bacardi family was forced to leave Cuba as the family owned company was threatened with nationalisation. For over 40 years, Luis Bacardi has been involved in managing the company that owns the largest alcohol brand in the world, being one of its main shareholders. Having received British citizenship, Louis Bacardi acquired the title of Lord. He was the embodiment of a true socialite. Settling in the principality, which remained his main residence until the very end of his life, Lord Luis Bacardi became one of the most respected figures in Monaco. Here he met his last wife Monica (Monica Bacardi) here, who still lives in the principality, engages in charity work and finances many cinematic projects.
