STATE COMPANIES AGREE TO PARTNER ON INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS AND CITY MAINTENANCE
Ulaanbaatar General Manager T.Gantumur inked memorandums with the Ulaanbaatar Electricity Distribution Company, Ulaanbaatar Heating Company and Telecommunication Network Company to improve the living condition of residents and organize maintenance works on pipelines and electricity grids.
T.Gantumur underlined that the memorandum with these three state-owned companies is the continuation of agreements established with the Mongolian government and Ministry of Energy to carry out the Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Action Plan through 2020.
As specified in the memorandum, the three companies will ensure stable city engineering network operations, cooperate on large infrastructure development projects to be executed in upcoming years, and carry out maintenance work without causing problems for residents.
Executive Director of Ulaanbaatar Electricity Distribution Company D.Bayarsaikhan stated, “Our company is facing big problems in relation to the lifting of the nighttime electricity tariff. We signed a memorandum with the Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office to work together on resolving these problems. An 11.2 billion MNT project needs to be carried out to continue reliable distribution of electricity to Ulaanbaatar. The capital decided to provide funds for connecting electricity to families living in ger areas.”
According to D.Bayarsaikhan, a recent study claimed that there are approximately 6,000 families not connected to the central electricity grid in the capital. The Ulaanbaatar Electricity Distribu- tion Company and Mayor’s Office plan to connect 2,000 families to the central grid this year.
Through the memorandum, the Ulaanbaatar Heating Company will do maintenance works this summer without cutting hot water supply, take measures to reduce heat loss of buildings, and launch new heat meters.
The Telecommunication Network Company agreed to assist land acquisition in telecommunication protection areas, terminate illegal land permits of buildings near protected areas, and valuable information exchange.
