World Bank to implement a rural energy project
The World Bank will implement the Energy 2 project to provide reliable energy to rural residents, as reported by the Ministry of Energy.
Energy 2 aims at reducing distribution system losses and improving revenue collection through increased reliability and strengthening the financial sustainability of Mongolia’s electricity distribution companies.
The project will be executed in cooperation with the Baganuur Southeast Electricity Distribution Network, the National Electricity Distribution System, and West Regional Electricity System.
The project will also include the expansion and renovation of the Baganuur Southeast Electricity Distribution Network, which provides electricity to Baganuur, Zamiin-Uud, Bor-Undur, Khentii Province, Dornogovi Province, Dundgovi Province, and Govisumber Province.
Expansion and renovation of the Erdenet-Bulgan Electricity Distribution Network will also take place. The company provides electricity to Erdenet, Bulgan Province, Arkhangai Province, the Uvurkhangai Province center, and Kharkhorin soum.
National Electricity Distribution System’s facilities in Baganuur and Khangai will be expanded, and a new 10Mw power state for the West Regional Electricity System will be built under Energy 2.
