30 international doctors to help improve Mongolian health sector
An Indian team from the Rotary International made preliminary assessment of the Mongolian health sector last week and decided to send 30 doctors and nurses in May.
The team, led by former Rotary District Governor Madhukar Malhotra, reviewed operations, healthcare services, equipment and human resources at the First State Central Hospital, Third State Central Hospital, and the State Hospital for Injury and Trauma.
On Monday, the team met with State Sec- retary of the Ministry of Health D.Ochirbat and requested assistance from the ministry with issues related to accommodations and visas for guest doctors and nurses arriving in May, as well as medical supplies and medicines they plan to bring.
State Secretary D.Ochirbat thanked Rotary members for their initiative and for accepting to assist in the Mongolian health sector. He promised to assist the team in all possible way, but reminded them to take measures consis- tent with the health policy of the Ministry of Health.
