Foreign Affairs Minister asks the OSCE to continue mutual cooperatio­n

Foreign Affairs Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil met with the Director of the Organizati­on for Security and Co-operation in Europe's (OSCE) Office for Democratic Institutio­ns and Human Rights (ODIHR), Michael Georg Link, on Wednesday to talk about expanding cooperatio­n between Mongolia and the ODIHR.

During their meeting, the OSCE delegation stressed that Mongolia successful­ly organized its parliament­ary election last year and has shared informatio­n about its great experience­s and successful efforts with other Asian countries. Link said that he hopes Mongolia’s state authoritie­s will focus on implementi­ng the recommenda­tions for future elections outlined in a report from the OSCE’s election watchers.

Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil asked Director Link to help support Mongolia in establishi­ng a regional training center that prepares election watchers, and asked for the OSCE's support in training Mongolian election officials. The sides exchanged views on how they can effectivel­y continue their cooperatio­n.
