Foreign Affairs Minister asks the OSCE to continue mutual cooperation
Foreign Affairs Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil met with the Director of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's (OSCE) Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), Michael Georg Link, on Wednesday to talk about expanding cooperation between Mongolia and the ODIHR.
During their meeting, the OSCE delegation stressed that Mongolia successfully organized its parliamentary election last year and has shared information about its great experiences and successful efforts with other Asian countries. Link said that he hopes Mongolia’s state authorities will focus on implementing the recommendations for future elections outlined in a report from the OSCE’s election watchers.
Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil asked Director Link to help support Mongolia in establishing a regional training center that prepares election watchers, and asked for the OSCE's support in training Mongolian election officials. The sides exchanged views on how they can effectively continue their cooperation.
