Unemployment declines
Employment agencies reported that 10.7 percent of the unemployed have found jobs within the first two months of 2017.
In just Ulaanbaatar, approximately 1,500 job seekers were employed through the assistance of intermediary organizations. However, 14,000 more people registered as unemployed at agencies operating in Ulaanbaatar and other provinces since January 1.
Reportedly, 45.4 percent of job seekers have completed general education schools, 31.4 percent have higher education diplomas or a bachelor’s degree, 6.9 percent have vocational certificates, and 1.1 percent are middle and high school dropouts. Nationwide, nearly 58 percent of the unemployed are people aged between 15 and 34 and are able to work.
According to national statistics, unemployment has dropped by 1,000 people compared to last year.
