B.MUNKHZAYA WINS 2017 NEW TAIPEI CITY WAN JIN SHI MARATHON

Mongolian runner, Internatio­nal Sports Master B.Munkhzaya, brought home a gold medal from the New Taipei Wan Jin Shi 2017 internatio­nal marathon, held on March 19 in Taiwan.

B.Munkhzaya won the women’s marathon by running 42 km within a time of 02:38:08. Gebre Getiso of Ethiopia placed second (02:38:21) and Ayele Belachew of Ethiopia came in third place (02:39:07).

More than 12,000 runners participat­ed in the 15th edition of New Taipei City Wan Jin Shi Marathon.

In the men’s marathon, Kipkosgei Yego of Kenya won with a finish time of 02:17:02, while Debela Belda of Ethiopia came in second place (02:17:04). Kipchirchi­r Keiyo of Kenya won a bronze medal after finishing in 02:17:15.

The New Taipei City Wan Jin Shi Marathon started in 2003, with around 4,000 runners participat­ing in the local event, but after 12 years, the marathon has emerged as an internatio­nal race.
