B.MUNKHZAYA WINS 2017 NEW TAIPEI CITY WAN JIN SHI MARATHON
Mongolian runner, International Sports Master B.Munkhzaya, brought home a gold medal from the New Taipei Wan Jin Shi 2017 international marathon, held on March 19 in Taiwan.
B.Munkhzaya won the women’s marathon by running 42 km within a time of 02:38:08. Gebre Getiso of Ethiopia placed second (02:38:21) and Ayele Belachew of Ethiopia came in third place (02:39:07).
More than 12,000 runners participated in the 15th edition of New Taipei City Wan Jin Shi Marathon.
In the men’s marathon, Kipkosgei Yego of Kenya won with a finish time of 02:17:02, while Debela Belda of Ethiopia came in second place (02:17:04). Kipchirchir Keiyo of Kenya won a bronze medal after finishing in 02:17:15.
The New Taipei City Wan Jin Shi Marathon started in 2003, with around 4,000 runners participating in the local event, but after 12 years, the marathon has emerged as an international race.
