B.BAYARMAA WINS WORLD AMATEUR CHESS CHAMPIONSH­IP 2017

Mongolian chess player B.Bayarmaa won a gold medal in the women’s U2300 category of the World Amateur Chess Championsh­ip 2017, which took place in Spoleto, Italy from April 1 to 9.

Students of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and the member of Mon Chess Club B.Bayarmaa defeated 210 chess players from 61 countries and became the first Mongolian woman to win the World Amateur Chess Championsh­ip.

The tournament took place in three categories - U1700, U2000 and U2300. Seven Mongolian chess players took part in the tournament.

Ambassador of Mongolia to Italy Ts.Jambaldorj met world champion B.Bayarmaa at the embassy and congratula­ted her for her achievemen­t and wished success in future tournament­s.
