B.BAYARMAA WINS WORLD AM­A­TEUR CHESS CHAM­PI­ONSHIP 2017

Mon­go­lian chess player B.Bayarmaa won a gold medal in the women’s U2300 cat­e­gory of the World Am­a­teur Chess Cham­pi­onship 2017, which took place in Spo­leto, Italy from April 1 to 9.

Students of the Plekhanov Rus­sian Univer­sity of Eco­nomics and the mem­ber of Mon Chess Club B.Bayarmaa de­feated 210 chess play­ers from 61 coun­tries and be­came the first Mon­go­lian woman to win the World Am­a­teur Chess Cham­pi­onship.

The tour­na­ment took place in three cat­e­gories - U1700, U2000 and U2300. Seven Mon­go­lian chess play­ers took part in the tour­na­ment.

Ambassador of Mon­go­lia to Italy Ts.Jam­bal­dorj met world cham­pion B.Bayarmaa at the em­bassy and con­grat­u­lated her for her achieve­ment and wished suc­cess in fu­ture tour­na­ments.
