Mongolian fathers join together to improve parenting practices

-

One-thousand Dads conference took place at the State Cultural Palace on Monday to increase leadership and involvement of fathers in their children’s lives and education.

Reportedly, 1,350 fathers gathered for the first conference aimed at fathers in Mongolia, which was organized as part of the Mongolian Person humanitarian campaign.

At the conference, initiator of the campaign and Head of the Social Development Commission D.Munkhjargal encouraged, “Not everyone becomes a mathematician but they become a father or a mother. Properly raising children is a challenge faced by all parents. I urge you all to avoid leaving your child completely to their teachers and school, and instead make time for your child!”

The conference zoomed in on the role of fathers and discussed some of the problems they face when interacting with their children, factors that impact children’s personality and behavior, and policies required from the state. Organizers were pleased with the active participation from fathers.

The Mongolian Person humanitarian campaign includes 623 public and private kindergartens, 225 schools, and eight educational institutes. The campaign to be held in four stages through 2020, aims to develop a comprehensive program for educating Mongolian children, introduce best parenting and educating techniques, improve relations and cooperation between students, teachers and parents, encourage parent to be more involved in their children’s lives, and eliminate bad parenting practices.
