State Draughts Championship 2017 concludes in Bayankhongor Province

The State Draughts Championship 2017 took place from May 22 to 28 in Bayankhongor Province under the auspices of mayor of the province.

The top 28 draughts players selected from the preliminary round and last year’s winners competed in the championship.

In the men’s category, international grandmaster G.Ganjargal won a gold medal by earning 21 points. Fourteen players competed in the men’s competition. This is the seventh gold medal G.Ganjargal won from the State Draughts Championship.

In the women’s category, sports master Ye.Ariunzaya claimed a gold medal after collecting 18 points, which is her second gold medal from the State Draughts Championship.

Most competitors in this year’s championship were young athletes. Fourteen-year-old B.Misheel secured a silver medal in the women’s event.
