Sleep disorders and epilepsy brought into focus
The Mongolian Neurologists Society organized an international conference on sleep disorders and epilepsy, a chronic disorder that causes unprovoked and recurrent seizures, on August 27.
Mongolian, German, South Korean and Japanese scientists gave presentations about the difference of sleeping disorder and epilepsy, the significance of advancing diagnosis for sleepinduced respiratory failures and disorders, and modern management of epilepsy.
In her opening remark, Minister of Health A.Tsogtsetseg thanked participants for joining the conference which strives to develop diagnosis and treatment for sleep disorders and epilepsy.
“As neurological disorders, sleep disorder and epilepsy to be more specific, are most likely to increase in society, it’s essential for neurologists, scientists, researchers and doctors specialized in other fields to work together to advance studies on such disorders. I’m sure that we will be able to initiate many policies and strategies based on the knowledge and experience we have accumulated,” she said.
During the meeting, Minister A.Tsogtsetseg highlighted the importance of raising awareness about neurological disorders, improving their diagnosis and treatment, and developing related standards.
Participants noted that the conference contributed greatly in identifying current challenges in the sector and seeking solutions, as well as helped researchers and doctors find good partners for their studies.
