Basketball has been developing rapidly in Mongolia and players have shown great accomplishments in the past five years. Mongolia is currently ranked in the fifth place in Asia and 35th place in the world ranking out of 190 countries.

Attendees of the meeting highlighted that there is no official national basketball team yet, however, basketball teams have attained a great deal of success at international tournaments as of late although they don’t receive any funding from the state.

During the meeting with the President, the coaches and basketball players invited the head of state to watch their next match.

President Kh.Battulga said, “Both federations have to be united in order to run activities under one policy. 3x3 basketball was officially added to the program of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic. That’s why you have to form the national basketball team. I will support you.”
