VAT payers prompted to scan 2017 receipts before January 8

-

The VAT Lottery team reminded taxpayers to register all receipts collected in 2017 and validate their information before January 8 in order to get refunds.

The second VAT refund of up to 20 percent will be transferred to bank accounts registered on the ebarimt.mn website within the first quarter of this year, the General Taxation Department reported. However, those who have multiple accounts cannot get their refunds unless they merge their accounts.

Follow these simple steps to merge your accounts: 1. Log into your VAT Lottery account. 2. Press on “Урамшуулал” tab on the top of

the page.

3. Click on the green “Хүсэлт гаргах” button on the right bottom corner of the page to send a request to merge multiple accounts.

4. Type in a six-digit password that will allow you to access all accounts.

5. Hit the “Хүсэлт илгээх” button to send the request.

6. When a confirmation pops up, type in the six-digit password again and click on the “Баталгаажуулах” button.

Then, your request will be sent to the admin for approval.

The new VAT reward system in the VAT Law was launched in January 2016 to reduce financial burdens on the public during the economic crisis by enabling both local and foreign taxpayers to get back 20 percent of the VAT they paid in the previous year. Last year, a total of 64.1 billion MNT was given back to VAT payers, 25.4 billion MNT returned to entities that overpaid VAT, and 2.1 billion MNT was won through the lottery.
