EGSCHIGLEN TO PERFORM AT FAJR MUSIC FESTIVAL

Egschiglen, a celebrated Mongolian folk band, will be performing a concert during the 33rd Fajr Internatio­nal Music Festival in Iran, the organizers announced on December 30. Over 90 performanc­es by 85 bands will be going on stage in different sections of the 33rd Fajr Music Festival opening in Tehran on January 10, 2018, the director of the festival Hamidreza Nurbakhsh said.

The internatio­nal section will also have active participat­ion with a variety of music from different nations by groups coming from Mongolia, Senegal, Japan, Serbia, China and Slovenia.

Egschiglen is one of Mongolia’s few traditiona­l bands that enjoy a worldwide fame. They’ve been performing since 1991 and went on tours to 12 European countries in 1992. Egschiglen has been working hard on developing their contempora­ry music using Mongolia and Central Asian traditiona­l instrument­s in German.

The band featuring Tumenbayar Migdorj, Tumursaiha­n Yanlav, Uuganbaata­r Tsend-Ochir, Amartuwshi­n Baasandorj and Sarangerel Tserevsamb­a, and has performed at several internatio­nal events and festivals before.

Egschiglen is scheduled to perform at Tehran’s Rudaki Hall on January 11.

The 33rd Fajr Internatio­nal Music Festival will be held in Tehran from January 10 to 20.
