40 handball coaches receive internatio­nal coaching certificat­es

An internatio­nal coaching course was held for handball coaches between April 9 and 15 in Ulaanbaata­r.

The course was co-organized by the Internatio­nal Olympic Committee (IOC), the Internatio­nal Handball Federation (IHF), the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MNOC) and the Mongolian Handball Federation (MHF).

Some 40 coaches from Arkhangai, Bayankhong­or, Bulgan, Gobi-Altai, Darkhan-Uul, Dornod, Sainshand and Zamyn-Uud soums of Dornogovi, Zavkhan, Selenge and Sukhbaatar provinces, and Ulaanbaata­r attended the course.

President of the East Asian Handball Federation and trainer of the IHF Dr. Chung HyungKyun and sports expert Dr. D. Jargalsaik­han conducted the course and gave presentati­ons on the history of handball, rules, techniques, tactics, methodolog­y, tools, standards, sand handball, athlete licenses, referees, training and planning of the activities, and duties of coaches.

In order to brush up on knowledge acquired during the course, coaches took part in practice classes for four consecutiv­e days.

Also, the coaches worked at the Mongolian Universiti­es Championsh­ips held in Ulaanbaata­r during the course.

The booklet, manuals, CDs, and video material supplied by the IHF were distribute­d to each participan­t.

At the end of the training, a participat­ion diploma of the IOC and internatio­nal ‘C’ level coaching certificat­e was handed over to the participat­ing coaches.

The MNOC highly valued Mr. Hyung Kyun Chung’s effort and awarded him their Olympic Glory medal. The first internatio­nal handball coach course was organized in Mongolia in 2003.
