40 handball coaches receive international coaching certificates
An international coaching course was held for handball coaches between April 9 and 15 in Ulaanbaatar.
The course was co-organized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Handball Federation (IHF), the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MNOC) and the Mongolian Handball Federation (MHF).
Some 40 coaches from Arkhangai, Bayankhongor, Bulgan, Gobi-Altai, Darkhan-Uul, Dornod, Sainshand and Zamyn-Uud soums of Dornogovi, Zavkhan, Selenge and Sukhbaatar provinces, and Ulaanbaatar attended the course.
President of the East Asian Handball Federation and trainer of the IHF Dr. Chung HyungKyun and sports expert Dr. D. Jargalsaikhan conducted the course and gave presentations on the history of handball, rules, techniques, tactics, methodology, tools, standards, sand handball, athlete licenses, referees, training and planning of the activities, and duties of coaches.
In order to brush up on knowledge acquired during the course, coaches took part in practice classes for four consecutive days.
Also, the coaches worked at the Mongolian Universities Championships held in Ulaanbaatar during the course.
The booklet, manuals, CDs, and video material supplied by the IHF were distributed to each participant.
At the end of the training, a participation diploma of the IOC and international ‘C’ level coaching certificate was handed over to the participating coaches.
The MNOC highly valued Mr. Hyung Kyun Chung’s effort and awarded him their Olympic Glory medal. The first international handball coach course was organized in Mongolia in 2003.
