Minister D.Tsogtbaatar visits Slovakia to deepen agriculture and education cooperation
Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar paid a visit to Slovakia on April 20 at the invitation of Slovakia’s Minister of Economy Peter Ziga.
As part of his visit, Minister D.Tsogtbaatar met with Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini to discuss the relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The Mongolian minister held meetings with Slovakia’s Deputy Minister for Investments and Information Richard Rasi and Minister Ziga to discuss trade, economic, education and agricultural cooperation between the two nations.
During the meetings, the sides talked about a soft loan from Slovakia’s Exim Bank for developing the Mongolian agricultural sector, the 30 Mongolian students who will study veterinary, agricultural management and information technology in Slovakia through government grant, and establishing a memorandum of cooperation on developing e-governance in Mongolia.
Ministers D.Tsogtbaatar and Ziga agreed to host the first meeting of a joint economic committee created under an agreement on economic cooperation between the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Slovak Ministry of Economy in September in Ulaanbaatar.
During his meeting with State Secretary of Slovakia’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Likas Parizek, Minister D.Tsogtbaatar exchanged views on bilateral cooperation, and regional and global issues with Parizek, and underlined that Mongolia is interested in developing cooperation in all sectors with Slovakia, which will chair the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in 2019.
The minister also met with members of the Mongolia-Slovakia friendship group in the Slovak National Council to talk about opportunities that will help strengthen mutual cooperation.
