Taiwanese dentists check children’s oral hygiene

A team of Taiwanese dentists provided oral hygiene checkup and conducted a workshop to help children take better dental care at School No.119 in Nalaikh District on May 14 and 15.

The workshop was organized within the framework of the Oral Hygiene Health Program of Nalaikh District by Taiwanese Associatio­n of Oral Health Sciences and School of Dentistry of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences.

The leader of the team underlined the need to teach children to take better dental care to prevent serious mental disorders. He added that healthy teeth enable people to live a healthier and better life.

Deputy Mayor of Nalaikh District Kh.Ankhbayar noted that teeth cavity is common among children and young people after thanking the Taiwanese dentists for their contributi­on and attention to improving dental care and health in Mongolia. According to the deputy mayor, many people living in the district have and are receiving support from the Taiwanese Child and Family Developmen­t Fund.

In his remarks, Taiwan's Representa­tive to Mongolia Huang Kuo-Jung said, “Mongolia and Taiwan has been cooperatin­g in the health sector for over 10 years. The two countries have a very close relation and has been organizing capacity building training and workshops for health specialist­s, and trading medicines and drugs. Now that medical equipment and technology is rapidly developing, habits and knowledge about human health is expanding even further.”

He noted that the Mongolian government is paying a great deal of attention to the health sector and expressed his confidence in getting concrete results in improving dental care and service in the country through the Mongolian-Taiwanese partnershi­p.
