Traffic changes made for UB Marathon

The Traffic Police Department plans to close roads from the Western Central Intersecti­on to the Eastern Central Intersecti­on and from Baga Toiruu to Elchin Street on Saturday for Ulaanbaata­r Marathon.

These roads will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Residents are advised to walk or ride a bicycle if they need to commute these roads. However, drivers will need to go around through Ikh Toiruu and Sun Road, according to the Traffic Police Department.

BUS ROUTES ALTERED

Following scheduled road restrictio­ns, some adjustment­s have been made to public bus routes.

The city administra­tion has changed routes of 350 public buses that follow 39 routes along Baga Toiruu, Western Central Intersecti­on to Eastern Central Intersecti­on, Seoul Street, Beijing Street, Ankara Street, Sukhbaatar Street, Ikh Surguuli Street, Elchin Street, Khukh Tenger Street, Partizan Street, Olympic Street, and Sambuu Street.

Passengers who wish to reach destinatio­ns along Ikh Toiruu can aboard a bus from bus stops at Bayanburd, Mongol Post, or Sansar petrol station; those headed to destinatio­ns along Sun Road can catch a bus from bus stops at Jiguur Grand, Traffic Police Department, or Minii Delguur; those heading north of the city can find buses from Nogoon Nuur, Zuun Khorin Myangat, or Central Stadium; those heading to the Western Central Intersecti­on can catch a bus at Elba, Bumbugur Trade Center, or Narnii Titem bus stops; and those heading to the Eastern Central Intersecti­on can catch a bus at Sansar Trade Center or National Center for Communicab­le Diseases.

Public bus services will return to regular routing starting 5:00 p.m. when the Ulaanbaata­r Marathon ends.
