D.Erdenebileg wins Erchim Cup 2018

The Erchim Cup 2018 of the Mongolian Federation of Draughts and Altan Khuu Club was held between May 11 and 13 at the Institute of Engineering and Technology.

A total of 68 players participated in the second tournament, including all seven grandmasters of Mongolia.

The tournament was conducted in the Swiss system with nine rounds. International grandmaster and State Merited Athlete D.Erdenebileg took the victory in the men’s category with 15 points, while international grandmaster M.Nyamjargal topped the women’s category with 12 points.

The second and third places of the men’s category went to World Draughts Federation (FMJD) master Ts.Khashchuluun (15 points) and international grandmaster G.Ganjargal (14 points).

In the women’s category, FMJD master G.Kherlenmurun claimed silver with 12 points, while international grandmaster E.Mandakhnaran seized bronze with her achievement of 11 points.

Sports master L.Gansukh and D.Dorj won gold in the senior category, while FMJD master E.Khuslen and sports master B.Purevbaatar topped the girls’ and boys’ categories.

The Mongolian Federation of Draughts announced that it will organize 10 series tournaments this year and 14 players with the highest score will participate in the Final 2018 competition.
